I Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2019 sono stati assegnati stanotte e tra i vincitori degli ambiti premi ci sono Free Solo e Queer Eye, mentre altri importanti riconoscimenti sono stati assegnati a RuPaul's Drag Race e al longevo Saturday Night Live.
Le scelte dell'Academy sono state annunciate durante una cerimonia che si è svolta al Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles e anticipano l'attesa consegna delle statuette assegnate agli attori, sceneggiatori, registi e show televisivi che avverrà tra una settimana.
Il documentario Free Solo, prodotto da National Geographic, dopo aver conquistato un Oscar ha portato a casa 7 Emmy, mentre alle sue spalle si sono posizionati gli show RuPaul's Drag Race e Queer Eye per numero di riconoscimenti. I Simpson ha vinto il premio come Miglior serie animata e Parts Unknown, il progetto che aveva come protagonista Anthony Bourdain, ha vinto due categorie (Miglior serie informativa e Migliori testi).
La serata ha inoltre permesso all'inossidabile Norman Lear di aggiungere al suo bottino un altro Emmy grazie alla regia dello speciale Live in Front of a Studio Audience, diventando così a 97 anni la persona più anziana a essere premiata dall'Academy nonostante la concorrenza di Sir David Attenborough che ha vinto un premio a 93 anni per il suo lavoro come voce narrante di Our Planet.
Tra i titoli premiati anche il discusso documentario su Michael Jackson Leaving Neverland e Love, Death & Robots, lo show animato prodotto per Netflix.
